Sweet Water™ Pond Dye

Sweet Water™ Pond Dye is a concentrated mirror black water colorant for ponds and lakes. It creates a dark reflective finish that emphasizes sky, trees, and surrounding landscape while reducing the amount of sunlight that moves through the water column.

Pond dye works best as a preventive appearance and light-management tool before seasonal growth is established. It does not kill an active algae bloom, remove nutrients, add dissolved oxygen, settle suspended clay, digest bottom muck, or replace a diagnosis.

Planning coverage

One quart typically covers up to one surface acre at 4 to 6 feet average depth, or about four acre-feet. One gallon of 4X concentrate typically covers up to four surface acres at 4 to 6 feet average depth, or about sixteen acre-feet. Flow, rainfall, water clarity, and desired color depth can change dose and reapplication timing.
